Dodge auctioned off the first production Hellcat Challenger at the recent Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction. When the gavel pounded, Rick Hendrick was the winning bidder shelling out $825,000 for the 707 horsepower screamer. 100 percent of the proceeds of this auction benefitted the Las Vegas charity Opportunity Village. The Engelstad Foundation of Las Vegas also matched the winning bid with their donation of $825,000 bringing the grand total raised to 1.65 million dollars. This auction raised more money than any other charity auctioned car in Barrett-Jackson history. Even more good news was that Barrett-Jackson waved their usual fees so all of the proceeds went to Opportunity Village.

Hellcat #1 comes equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission. Part of the auction package will include a 6.2-liter supercharged engine cover and a Hemi orange painted base presentation box with a VIN 0001 electronic vehicle build book and a video documentary on an iPad mini that shows the step-by-step build process of the car. Rick will add this car to an amazing collection of muscle cars he has acquired over the last several years.
