Unique Trio of Corvettes at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction
This Polo White convertible is not only the first 1955 Corvette built, it also holds the distinction of being the first Corvette to come with a V8 engine and a 12-volt electrical system. This beauty was subjected to a frame-off, nut-and-bolt restoration and nabbed NCRS Top Flight honors in 2008.
Check out this 1956 model. It sports new and revamped styling and comes with the Corvette’s first dual 4-barrel V8 setup. It is also the first production power convertible top Vette and the first production example to feature power windows.
This Cascade Green 1957 model was the first car to feature the 283 cubic-inch engine. It also features a PowerGlide transmission, power convertible top, and Wonder Bar radio. And just like the 1955 model, it also received a NCRS Top Flight honor with a score of 97.4.
