Ford Announces 2017 GT ’66 Heritage Edition
We didn’t need another reason to love the 2017 Ford GT even more but we can’t help but drool at the pics of the upcoming ’66 Heritage Edition. This limited edition racer features matte or gloss Shadow Black paint and silver stripes running the length of the car. The car is also adorned with #2 Frozen White hood and door graphics similar to those worn by the winning racecar. The ’66 Heritage Edition is an awesome tribute to the Ford GT that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.
“Celebrating the anniversary of Ford’s historic victories at Le Mans has always been a part of the return of the Ford GT,” said Raj Nair, Ford executive vice president, product development, and chief technical officer. “The 2017 Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition is a stunning tribute to the car that kicked off Ford’s string of Le Mans victories in 1966.”
The interior features carbon-fiber seats in black leather with pillowed inserts and plow-through stitching. The instrument panel, pillars, and headliner are also adorned in black leather with gold appliques on the instrument panel, X-braces on the seats, and paddle shifters.
