2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Destroys The Nurburgring

The new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 recently tested at Germany’s fabled Nurburgring track. Chevrolet’s sixth generation ZL1 boasted an impressive 7:29.60 time. That’s over two seconds faster than the Shelby GT350R and the Porsche 911 Turbo S! Even more surprising, this record is 11.67 seconds quicker than the previous generation Camaro ZL1.

Chevrolet announced today that the 2017 Camaro ZL1 lapped Germany’s grueling Nürburgring Nordschleife road course in 7:29.60.

“To be almost 12 seconds quicker than the 5th-Generation ZL1 is a testament to the advanced design and technology of the new ZL1,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “From the improved aerodynamics, mass reduction and 650-horsepower LT4 to the Magnetic Ride Control, electronic limited-slip differential and Custom Launch Control, the ZL1 was designed to take on the world’s most challenging track, making it right at home on any track, road or drag strip anywhere.”

The car tested was a stock car, just like the ones that will soon be available from your local Chevy dealer. Look for the new 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 to hit showrooms any day now.
