The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE – Unbridled Fury for the Track

Hey Camaro devotees! What do you get when you combine the ferocity of the ZL1 with the track capabilities of the 1LE? Simply put, you get the Camaro ZL1 1LE. The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is the most track-capable Camaro ever created.

With the ZL1 1LE, you get the best of both worlds. By combining the track-centric capabilities of the 1LE along with the sheer power of the ZL1, you get a Camaro ready to serve up a one-two punch to the Shelby GT350.

“The track-focused 1LE package offers progressive levels of performance across the Camaro lineup, from the V6 1LE to the SS 1LE,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer. “But with the new ZL1 1LE, the progression takes a quantum leap — this is the ultimate track-day Camaro.”

Under the hood is a 650 horsepower, supercharged LT4 V8 mated to a six-speed manual transmission with active rev matching. Inside, a surprising amount of creature comforts awaits the driver. Standard interior features include dual-zone automatic climate control, Bose sound system, heated/ventilated seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Four key ingredients come together to give the ZL1 1LE an edge over the competition. A carbon fiber rear wing along with front air deflectors and dive planes help the ZL1 1LE slice through the wind. An adjustable suspension can adapt to varying conditions on the track and city streets. Lightweight wheels, along with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires developed exclusively for the ZL1 1LE, provide maximum grip. By shaving off unnecessary weight, the ZL1 1LE is nearly 60 pounds lighter than a standard ZL1 coupe.

“The new Camaro ZL1 1LE offers the supreme track experience,” said Mark Dickens, executive director, Chevrolet Performance Variants, Parts and Motorsports Engineering. “It’s the pinnacle of Camaro performance and advances the 1LE’s nearly 30-year legacy of uncompromising, track-tailored capability.”

Pricing and availability will be available later this year.
