Unmasked At Last: The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro Finally Breaks Cover

After months of seeing spy shots of the upcoming 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, the refreshed Camaro has finally been revealed. And there’s a lot of surprises in store for the upcoming model year.

Changes to the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro include front-end styling differentiation between the LS, LT, RS and SS models. There’s also new rear styling based on trim level. The SS features a distinctive front with an open bowtie grille emblem along with unique headlamps and air extractor hood. The RS Appearance Package, available on LT models, comes with a polished black grille with chrome lower inserts and new LED headlamps and light bar.

“Lauded since its introduction for its balance of driving fun, refinement and value, the restyled 2019 Camaro reaches even higher with more of the design, technology and choices that customers want,” said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet marketing director for Cars and Crossovers. “It’s a performer with few competitors and a pillar of Chevrolet’s energized car lineup.”

There’s also a new four-cylinder Turbo 1LE joining the pack. It includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. Brembo brakes and a drive mode selector with Sport and Track modes are standard equipment.

New technology packages are also being made available. Infotainment 3 is an all-new system that provides drivers with a system that mimics the latest smartphones and tablets. The standard system features a 7-inch color touchscreen with an optional 8-inch that is available with navigation.

New safety features are also available for the 2019 Camaro. There’s a standard rear-view camera on 2SS and ZL1 models and a forward collision alert system is being added to the list of safety equipment.
