2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet Celebrates 50 Years of Racing History

Ford has unleashed the latest version of its infamous Cobra Jet Mustang on the racing world.

This venomous snake is coiled and ready to strike! The 2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet promises to be the most powerful and fastest Cobra Jet yet. Powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter Coyote V8, Ford Performance claims this factory racer will be capable of sprinting the quarter mile in the mid-8-second range and top speeds in excess of 150 mph.

“From the very first Mustang Cobra Jets dominating the 1968 NHRA Winternationals to our modern-day Cobra Jet racers, the Ford Performance Parts team continues to build the Cobra Jet brand based on its success at the track over five decades,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Performance Parts. “That, in turn, has inspired generations of Mustang fans to create their own performance machines for the street.”

The 2018 Ford Mustang Cobra Jet will have a limited production run of only 68 units. The racer will be available in either Race Red or Oxford White. The cars feature an available commemorative 50th anniversary graphics package and anniversary badging.

Ordering information and product specs will be available later this summer. No word yet on pricing.
