The Hennessey Hellcat HPE1000 Is The New Definition of Excess

The definition of excess has been defined as going beyond what is regarded as customary or proper. The folks at Hennessey Performance took that meaning to heart when they created the Hennessey Hellcat HPE1000.

Hennessey transforms the already mighty Dodge Challenger Hellcat from a 707 horsepower beast to a 1,012 horsepower leviathan. This boost in power is courtesy of a 4.5-liter supercharger, upgraded high-flow air induction system, and stainless steel long tube headers with high-flow catalytic converters.

Hennessey touts a 0 to 60 time of 2.8 seconds and a quarter mile time of 9.9 seconds at 141 mph. In case you’re keeping score, that’s 0.2 seconds quicker from 0 to 60 and 0.9 seconds faster in the quarter than the Ford GT.
