Saying Goodbye to the Chevrolet Camaro…But Not So Fast

After years of speculation, Chevrolet finally fessed up the end is near for the Camaro. With that said, the last sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro is slated to be built in January 2024.

The sixth generation Chevrolet Camaro gave us some really great special editions. Standouts include the 50th Anniversary Edition, 1LE, and the SS Hot Wheels Edition. And the six generation ZL1 garnered the Camaro the distinction of being the most powerful production Camaro ever created. The sixth generation had something for everyone.

Chevrolet plans to close out the Camaro with a Collector Edition for the 2024 Camaro RS and SS. The ZL1 won’t be left out and will also get the Collector Edition treatment.

Additional information on the 2024 Camaro and Collector’s Edition packages will be presented later this summer.

“As we prepare to say goodbye to the current generation Camaro, it is difficult to overstate our gratitude to every Camaro customer, Camaro assembly line employee and race fan,” said Scott Bell, vice president, Global Chevrolet. “While we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, this is not the end of Camaro’s story.”

Rumor and speculation persist as to if the Camaro will return as an electric vehicle. Could a Ford Mustang Mach-E competitor be the next Camaro? Only time will tell.
